Watched the video clip on your website. Good argument, but pardon me, your repeated use of the word "Asian guys" jars. By definition, "Asian guy" could be a Syrian on the Mediterranean and a Japanese on the Pacific. It just as well saying "some bad guys out there". Could you be a bit more specific?

What's about such dubious person like Luciano Moggi? In the top he fixed Juve's championship 2006. He was banned for years; and now he's back. The italian system stays corrupt, if he don't suffer a penalty for lifetime banishing. And that circumstance is, why we loose the game for all times.

The game of Europol seems to me also dubious. Why they get in front of the public, say some mysterious words, do not speak out some names, do not have any person put in handcuffs, but speak about their business? That is a warning to criminal networkers to take the heads down and make their business as usual; isn't it?!

For me, these are question to answer. But first of all: You did and do a great job! This is the ground it needs to discover the criminal work that attacks the true game. Otherwise the game is lost and over for ever.

Thanks for writing a very informative and troubling article. At certain levels of government and enterprise, sometimes things are not as they appear. You have done a real service in showing that whatever it is behind the "veil" here, it is not healthy for the sport. Perhaps, it would take a few more successful prosecutions of mid-level folks in Europe and sufficient clamoring in the press to demand action by Singapore. The kind of behaviors about which you wrote speak, in part, to a lack of comfort in why some of Singapore's best and brightest immigrating to California (world's sixth largest economy if it was a nation) and its technologically advanced sectors. Leadership (Singapore) left to their own devices rarely see the need for change and are unwilling to act. Therefore, it takes external criticism widely disseminated to prompt change. I recommed you actively engage in social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to promuglate the connections of people in and out of Singapore to Mr. Tan.

Declan,

Interesting stuff. What about Paul Phua and his IBC? According to an article back in 2011 in Spiegel (Geman weekly), IBC, SBO and Singbet cover around 2/3rd of the market. Major stake holder at IBC is Paul Phua. They were writing that Manila was actually the capital of match fixing.

Keep up the good work! The world of sports needs people like you.

Interesting blog, i'm a keen gambler and have been doing well of inplay betting for almost a year now, during this time i've seen at least a dozen fixed matches (you can quite obviously tell it's fixed by the odds of an occurance happening, for instance a game being played, no discrepancies, then all of a sudden in the 60th minute, the odds for over 2.5 goals to be scored will drop drastically, down to about 1/10, odd considering the game is 0-0!)

It's anoccurrence that seems to be happening more and more, i've even seen it happen in an under 17s game, which is just plain wrong (believe it was Myanmar U17s). Most of the games seem to be international teams, and all from Asia (Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar etc)

European wise I haven't noticed that much of it, but one thing I have noticed is a Lithuanian team, that seem to score most of their goals in the last 10 minutes of match. This could of course just be a co-incidence, especially since there isn't much in the way of odds fluctuating, but it's something that i've picked up on.

I email every obvious fix I see to FIFA, I have never even had so much as an acknowledgement of it being received which infuriates me.

Great blog, you have a new fan!
